Magnesium Sulfate

Description

Magnesium Sulfate is used in case of:
- hypertensive crisis;
- heart rhythm disorders;
- convulsive syndrome;
- eclampsia;
- reducing the amount of magnesium in the blood;
- increased need for magnesium.

Magnesium participates in most metabolic reactions, including those associated with the synthesis and release of energy, regulates muscle excitability, exhibits calming, pain-reducing, anticonvulsant, spasmolytic, etc. The drug dilates the coronary and peripheral arteries, lowers blood pressure, reduces the frequency of arrhythmias, and lowers the tone of the uterus.

It is also used in the complex therapy of premature birth, angina pectoris (strong pain in the chest) due to exertion, poisoning with heavy metal salts, poisoning with tetraethyl lead, poisoning with soluble barium salts (antidote).
